What is an energy
efficient window?
An energy efficient window is a window that has been energy
rated by The British Fenestration Rating Council Limited (BRFC)
and has been awarded a Window Energy Rating (WER). Windows
are rated using the familiar A to G energy rating scale (found
on fridges) on the basis of their total energy efficiency.
An A rated window is more efficient than a G rated window.
What sort of savings could you expect?
Energy efficient windows may cost a little more initially,
but will not only improve comfort levels, they will also save
energy and money for the life
of the window.
Each household uses energy differently, but
it is freely recognised that fitting a C rated window or better
will save more than the premium paid.
Environment
All our windows have been designed to contribute not only
to energy efficiency in the home, but also to reducing landfill.
Designed with the future in mind our
windows are 100% recyclable, from the frame to the double
glazed units. In fact, the frame can be recycled over 10 times
without deterioration to performance and has a total life
span of over 400 years!
